I am super new to cbd and was looking I to making my own cbd.  I've read decarbing increases the cbd.  But it also sounds like heat lowers the terpenes. I was wondering if that was true.  Because wouldn't that mean smoking would kill the terpenes?
Also I saw a sous vide method of darcarbing/infusing.  Dacarb at 206° for an hour in vacuum sealed bag.  Then at 185 in a Mason jar with the oil for four hours.  Is this an okay method.
And last, is there a maximum amount of  CBD flower that I can put in 16oz of oil?

This can be tricky question to ask. Due to the fact that the internet is filled with lots of different opinions. In fact this has been scientifically tested back in the 90s but of course with high THC strain. So to answer your question imo when you take your flower in it's raw form it's CBD-a, once heat is applied it's becomes active CBD. If you plan to make capsules simply use the decarbed flower. 230-40 degrees for 1 hour is perfectly fine. Then make your capsules. For oil based extractions using olive or coconut oil simple take your raw CBD-A and slow cook for 4 Hours. There is no need to do both decarb and cook with oil. When you decarb there is a somewhat loss in potency to make it simple if your flower is 15% potent decarb in oven will make the flower less then what was originally tested at. Oil extractions of cbd seem to be the most efeecteff without blowing yourself up. Example RSO Rick Simpson oil. Hope this helps

If it's 15% raw decarb typically decreases potency to 10-12% imo.

Raw vs. Decarb CBD - What's the Difference?

Raw CBD? Decarboxylation? These terms get thrown around a lot, but what do they actually mean to the person trying to choose the best CBD option for themselves? Get the basics and get the difference between Raw CBD and Decarb CBD here.

I would read this To be honest it's more work and if your not familiar you run the risk of ruining it I would just stick to buying a tincture
